Michael and I just finished celebrating (the whole screaming, yelling, jumping up and down, calling everyone we know). No we didn't win the lottery - it's even better! Lennon, who's been constipated for a few days, just had a big poop AND Oliver pooped in the "big boy" potty without being asked! YEAH! WOO-HOO! I know it may seem weird and insignificant to celebrate, but if you have kids you're celebrating with us. To us, it's a HUGE celebration. Even Oliver was yelling, "I poo poo in potty and wawepop"! Yeah Oliver and Lennon - you've made us very proud!

married, with children...
That was Michael's comment to me last night (well, it was under his breath, but I have dog ears). I recently received my "monthly bill" and I'm super pleasant to be around (can you sense the sarcasm). Lennon was super fussy and hasn't slept much the last two nights - which is TOTALLY unusual for her. And Oliver, well he's Oliver. He STARTS to wind down at 10PM. I'm bitching, Lennon's fussing, Oliver's screaming and all I hear is this mumbles from my hubby's mouth, "that's my life, married with children". All I could think was, "that's right buddy, call yourself lucky"!

adult night out...

We finally got a serious adult night out (seriously, no kids and no Lupe's) and it was F-U-N, fun! Got to hang out with the Dolars: childhood/high school/college buddies...yada, yada, yada - you get the picture. We've been friends a long time and really they're more like family. Michael and I were VERY excited about an adult night out, especially since having Leni Bean. The night in a nutshell: nice seafood dinner and LOTS of hotel bar martini's (Y-U-M-M-Y). Michael and I didn't stay out too late (reality check - have to feed baby every 3 hours), but we still had a good time. It's funny, cause no matter how much you get ready for and enjoy an adult night out - it ALWAYS becomes about the kids. We spent the night laughing and talking about nothing and everything, but mostly about our kids (they also have two kiddos). Potty training, temper tantrums, feeding schedules - you know, all the regular kid stuff. Life before kids: talked about getting drunk, latest fashion, music, etc. Life after kids: talk about poop, lawn care, mortgages, etc. My, my, how life changes. May seem boring to most, but really our lives are WAY more exciting than they use to be. On the way home, Michael and I couldn't wait to get home to see our babies. We missed them. ALOT.

life is precious...
I got some shocking and terrible news this morning. A co-worker of mine (and someone I used to babysit), whose wedding was to be this Saturday, had everything taken away from her in a split, tragic accident. Her fiancee and high school sweetheart apparently drowned at his bachelor party last night.
WTF? That's all I could think. How can this happen? I'm beside myself and just can't imagine how this poor girl is going to be able to cope, accept, and move on with her life. They just closed on their first house together two days ago and had 8 days left until their wedding. This is the only man she has ever been with and ever loved. They had plans for the future.
My heart breaks for her. We all have that awful fear, that one phone call you never want to get. We watch things like this on the news and read it in the newspaper. Something like this just doesn't happen to people we actually know, right? It makes no sense.
It just goes to show you that life is so precious. The people you love can be take away so quickly. Your life can be turned upside down in a split second. It makes you realize that you can't dwell on the little things, life is so much bigger. Tell those close to you that you love them everyday because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
Many blessings KH.

you got to wiggle it...
Oliver is in the midst of major potty training. We're putting undies on him, which means ALOT of clean-up around the house. I had a doctor's appointment today and Michael called to tell me we needed more carpet cleaner. Great. Oliver keeps telling me "it not working" when he can't pee in the toilet. Too funny.
I had my post-pregnancy check-up today. My weight has gone down - I'm almost back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. The only thing is the tummy. Man, what kids can do to your body! My tummy is so jiggly and wiggly now. I have a "muffin top" and extra curves that I didn't have before. Maybe it's my age, but my body bounced right back after Oliver - not the same this time. Totally bummed. I HATE working out and I'm hoping that all the Corona Light I've been drinking will make it all disappear. It can happen, right?
