baby, baby, baby...

Still no baby! Hello! What's it going to take? We've done everything to get this baby going and she's not getting it! I'm having contractions daily, but that's about it! We just want her to get here soon - the anticipation is making us crazy. Tick, tock, tick, tock...

false alarm...

So, we're BIG dorks! Last night I was having contractions - nothing major but pretty uncomfortable. I didn't sleep much, but went to work because I felt fine in the morning. Right after lunch I had a contraction that really bothered me (the menstrual-cramp, back-ache kind) and then I started to feel really bad. I was walking super S-L-O-W and I could barely keep up with my kiddos. I got back to the classroom and my co-workers were a bit worried. I called the OB to let her know and she thought I might have lost my water. I hadn't had a major gush of water(I argued with the nurse), but my discharge (TMI, I know), was much heavier and she said this was a sign that my water might have broke. So, my OB called Labor and Delivery, my principal picked up Mike (because we carpool), I called my Mom and sister, and we were on our way! Woo-hoo!

Long story short, they sent us home. I asked if I could stay since we were already there and in the lovely hospital gown, but the answer was "no". Bummer. After making such a fuss, I feel like the world's biggest dork! You'd think this was my first time to have a baby, but we induced Oliver a week early and I had NO signs of labor with him (until I got the pitosin drip - eek).

So, we're still waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

just waiting...

We're just waiting for the arrival of our new little one. The last few weeks of pregnancy are the worst! You're so tired, uncomfortable, and just want to see your new bundle of joy. I had some MILD contractions the other night and I lost my mucous plug (TMI, I know). I keep thinking, "today's the day", but it's only wishful thinking. Tick, tock, tick, tock...

And don't ask, no we haven't decided on a name. Maybe we'll just call her Olivia Lennon Everly Elizabeth Marker. Is it too much?

Here's my neice, Maya Isabel. Isn't she super adorable? She lives in Oregon with her Mommy and Daddy.

mas cerveza, por favor...

I just had to share this photo. Oliver learned (or rather taught us) he had one special talent: get daddy a beer (and mommy too, although I have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy one). Seriously, Michael didn't even ask but before you know it Oliver had brought him 3 beers from the fridge, bottle opener in tow. He hasn't quit figured out how to open the beer yet, but we know that'll be next (he climbed out of his crib at an early age and loves to climb in and out of the baby's rocking bassinet). Sometimes we swear he's a monkey - I guess it's a boy thing. Beer anyone?

36 weeks and counting...

We had our 36 week ultrasound today. According to my OB, everything looks fine and she's still a girl (whew - we just painted the room pink)! We have about 4 more weeks to go, but looks like my cervix has already softened (which never happened with Oliver). No dialation yet, but my OB went over what to do if my water breaks and when to make my way to the hospital. Mike and I did not have this conversation with her when we were pregnant with Oliver, so we are a little surprised. Oliver had no intention of leaving my womb (we induced a week early because he was supposed to be a big baby). This little one is supposed to be big too (she's estimated at 6lbs already) and when I asked my OB about induction again, she said "Looks like your baby has other plans". We're excited but a little freaked out - all the things we need to do before she's here. I guess it's nesting time!

Anyhoo, here's a photo of the ultrasound. It's two pictures, one of her nose and lips (on the left) and one of her whole face (on the right). Hope you can make it out. Enjoy and we'll keep you updated!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

We're just counting down the weeks/days/hours/minutes until baby Marker is here! I have my 36 week ultrasound this week and I'm looking forward to seeing how big she is. Oliver was supposed to be a "big baby", so I'm anticipating the same with this baby.

We still haven't decided on any names, but at least we have a few on our minds. Are you ready? The names were thinking of are...Lennon, Everly (Ever), and Olivia. Any thoughts?

Oliver is doing well. Daddy painted his room this weekend and we're waiting for it to stop smelling so he can move back in. He's been staying with us (I know, big mistake), but I have to admit I love watching him sleep. I use to do it all the time when he was an infant and it still brings tears to my eyes. He's such an angel when he sleeps.

I'll post the ultrasound photos later this week.
